50ft. Migration is an IPA brewed with Kviek yeast. Kviek yeast is unique because it ferments very quickly at abnormally high temperatures, which produces a uniquely tropical profile that perfectly complements the aromas of the Citra, NY Chinook, Cashmere, and Mosaic hops that we used to brew the beer. Last IPA brewed and released from our original Brewery location, celebrating our “50 ft. Migration” across the street to the new brewery location.

This was the last IPA brewed in Rushing Duck's original brewery location. The name signifies the move to the new building. On draught at the brewery. 12 oz. pour served in a plastic cup (during COVID-19 pandemic). It pours a hazy, bright yellow-orange color with a creamy, bright white head and soapy lacing. The nose is highly floral with lemon peel. The taste is bold and tangy with tart lemon, orange, and grapefruit. It's slightly sour due to the Kviek yeast. It has a grassy, earthy quality from the Mosaic and New York Chinook hops. It was brewed a while ago so the Cashmere hops are rather subdued. The mouth feel is lite and crisp with lively carbonation and it drinks easily for it 7.5% ABV. Overall, I was fortunate to get one of the last pours before the last keg kicked. 50 ft. Migration is a great summertime IPA. It was ideal on a hot, sunny day in Rushing Duck's outdoor biergarten.
