A cross between a lager and a porter. Has flavors of caramelized sugar, and roasted chocolate malt with a drinkable finish.

On draught at the brewery. Served in a plastic cup due to COVID restrictions. It pours a very dark cola color with a light khaki-colored head and lacing. The smell is probably the weak point - mostly faint coffee and tobacco. On the other hand its taste is terrific: roasted malt, earthy char, acidic coffee, and a nice dose of prune/raisin/date. The dark fruit is there but it's hard to identify accurately. Its mouth feel is rich and creamy with moderate carbonation, and its 9.5% ABV is well-hidden. Overall, this is a great rendition of the style; I would expect nothing less from Rushing Duck.
