A Barrel Aged Barley Wine with coconut and cacao nibs. An homage to a cookie beer! Amazing flavors of bourbon, caramel, and subtle coconut. Super drinkable and smooth. Use caution!

Fizzy; bit of a gusher. The resulting pour is completely flat and still. Body is mostly clear with some particulate (likely coconut) and a dark brown.

Nose is quite pleasant. Bourbon/whisky is most prominent at first, but after it has sat in the glass for a little bit, chocolate and coconut emerge. Additional notes of soft leather, caramel, wheat, and bark.

Quite fizzy on the palate, as well, but not unpleasantly so; it's a relief that it's not flat. Medium bodied, a bit of a surprise given the ABV. Sticky and sweet. The fizziness fades pretty quickly, becoming a smooth sipper for most of the experience.

Surprisingly sweet on the palate. Rich bourbon, honey, coconut, vanilla, caramel, chocolate, brown sugar. Lasting honeycomb finish. On the verge of cloying, but just shy.

Reviewed 2 weeks after anniversary day release. Poured from 500 ML bottle into a fluted glass. It pours a dense, opaque orange-brown color. The khaki-colored head fizzled away almost immediately. It's quite effervescent. The aromatic nose features the traditional Barleywine aromas of caramel/toffee, brown sugar, raisin, and plum but adds nice doses of cocoa and coconut. The bourbon smell is subtle. The taste opens very sweet and the influence of the chocolate and coconut is strong. There is also a strong brown sugar and toffee presence. The flavors of raisin and dark fruit are a bit overwhelmed by the other adjuncts. You can taste the bourbon influence but it's subtle with modest warming. The mouth feel is super rich and creamy - almost chewy. While it seemed very effervescent when poured, the carbonation level is moderate. There is no escaping the 13.4% ABV; it's very much a sipper. You know that Rushing Duck will brew something big and strong for its anniversary. Ten is a very good English Barleywine if you can handle the sweetness. It's a perfect dessert sipper and welcome in the autumn months. It will be interesting to see how it ages.

Pours a market chocolate color. Nice smell of chocolate and coconut and it tastes of these as well. A great sipping beer made for the brewery 10th anniversary.
