Reviewed about a month after can release for Rushing Duck's 13th Anniversary. Poured into a tulip glass. A dark mahogany pour. The light mocha head fizzled away so fast that I couldn't snap a decent photo. The nose is mostly freshly-brewed coffee and dark chocolate, along with some delightful dark fruit notes. The taste is quite sweet. I'm noting cocoa, cola, black cherry, fig, caramel, and molasses. It's sweeter than I anticipated. It could use some compensating char bitterness. The mouth feel is thinner than I'd hoped but the carbonation level is appropriate and the 14.9% ABV is warming. Overall, I'm not sure what Rushing Duck was trying to achieve but I honestly, this is a mess. RD is one of my favorite brewers and its big Stouts are usually superb but I'm just not getting this one. Actually, the name is very appropriate.
