Nov. 2015: Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Clear dark cognac colour, off-white head. Nice malty aroma, some caramel, a little fruit. Malty flavour too, but not too sweet. Nicely balanced, despite the hops being very moderate. Easy drinking. Maybe not a real masterpiece, but certainly a beer I could drink again.

De color rojizo, con cuerpo y carbonatación media; con un dedo de espuma de poca retención. Aroma a malta y caramelo. En boca es ligeramente dulce y agradable para beber.

BOTTLE from Alcampo in Barcelona. 33cl. Brown glass. Red foil covers a pry-off crown cap. Cost was ~2 euro.
6.10% ABV.
A: Off-white head. ~10 second retention. No lacing.
Body is a dark auburn-brown. Nontransparent. Translucent. No yeast particulate or hop sediment is visible within.
Sm: Amber malts. Toasted malts. Caramel. Bread crust. Saccharomyces ale yeast. On the sweeter side, but a hint of faint herbal hop character coupled with the aforementioned toastiness balances it out.
Aromatic intensity is average.
T: Matches the aroma. Balanced, but shallow. It's a simple red ale, and I dig the Smithwick's redolent toasted amber malt base. I quite like it for what it is, but more subtlety and intricacy of flavour would be nice.
Mf: Slightly dry and coarse, which is apt for the style and helps accentuate the toastiness. Medium-bodied. Well-carbonated.
Not oily, gushed, boozy, astringent, harsh, rough, or scratchy.
O: Highly drinkable; I wouldn't mind a 4 pack of this in a night. It's an enjoyable no-frills red ale that will please fans of the style but will fail to impress. I've had better supermarket beers in Spain, but this is worth trying once. I do wish the price was more reasonable.

31 Agosto 2015. From Carrefour. In Duvel glass. Watching Breaking Bad 3x01. My first approach to this style, and althougj I started not being sure if I like it or not, I think that in the end Ive liked it. Avg 3.83.
25 Enero 2019. De Hipercor. En copa Teku. Nueva etiqueta.
Avg 4

330ml sealed tap bottle. Shaker glass. Reddish copper color, crystal clear appearance. Inviting & close crown, yellowish in color. Strawberries, berries, ripe peach, honey & caramel malts to the nose with subtle chocolate notes. Sweet toasted maltiness & herbal hues at first sip. Light body. Moderate carbonation. Dense texture. Slight bitterness, tea-like flavors with chocolate hints in the middle linger into a sweet/bitter finish. Chocolate comes back on the aftertaste. Smooth drinkability & ABV well hidden. Nice spot of the Irish Red Style.
