330ml bottle from Supermercado del Corte Inglés, Santa Cruz de Tenerife (€1.50):
Dark, murky brown bordering on purple with a thin soapy lacing a top an opaque body. Fruity hops on the nose, rich & slightly boozy with pine & caramel. Resinous tasting, sweet & darker than expected, lots of overripe tropical fruits with a medium to full body & strong carbonation.

Bottle, as Aldi Contiga IPA de fabricacion artesana sin filtrar, brewed in the EU for La Sagra Brew. ABV is 7.2%, IBU 70. Bought at Aldi, Estepona. Hazy orange to brown colour, large white head. Aroma of orange marmalade and citric hops. Flavour of bitter Seville oranges and grapefruit, very bitter finish.

De color ámbar, con una fina capa de espuma de buena retención. Cuerpo medio y texturosa aceitosa. Aroma tostado y a caramelo. En boca tiene un equilibrio entre dulzor y cítrico (cáscara de naranja).
Con un 7.2% de alcohol y un Ibu de 70, es una cerveza muy interesante.

A: Poured from the 33cL bottle into a wine glass (didn't have anything else on hand at a hotel). The beer is a slightly hazy pure orange color with very little head.
S: Bright citrus malts muddled with a a slightly earthy aroma.
T: Nice and bitter with all the typical citrusy flavors in there. There is a slight medicinal flavor along with a spiciness that is not totally unwelcome but is distracting.
F: Smooth with a drying character. As an IPA should be.
Overall: I thought this was pretty good while on a trip here in Spain, but I wouldn't necessarily seek it out.

I found this Spanish beer at a bottle shop in South Korea. There is not much to tell about the beer scene here in South Korea. There are a few big name mass produced types and very little when it comes to local beer. This set of circumstances may have primed my taste buds. That is any beer here that is not Cass, Hite or sucky sucky will taste that much better. La Sagra IPA did not disappoint me. It is an IPA but not an overly bitter one. Had I bothered with a glass I would tell you more about the smell. I'm sure it was excellent. At 70 IBU's its on the low end for an IPA but it's got 7.2% ABV. That and the taste makes up for any lack of IBU's. All around it's a good beer and I'll have to go try the rest of what they have to offer at the bottle shop.

First Spanish craft (non major brewery) I've had. Given the fairly recent expansion of craft to countries without traditionally strong brewing industries, my expectations were somewhat tempered.
I was pleasantly surprised. Strong aroma of continental hops. Not west coast grapefruit and pine but more of a pepper character with subtle tropical fruit.
Clear golden color with an abundant bright white head, plenty of lacing. Taste follows the smell, with some peppery bite and bitterness that is well balanced by malt providing a soft fruit character, especially as it warms.
Mouthfeel is soft and matches the taste well.

Looking forward...as I love IPA´s...
Looks really good. Smells just like an American West Coast IPA, congrats to La Sagra! They are different from Sagres, by the way (had to google it to make sure!)...pure apricotty goodness.
Wow, was not expecting this much flavor. My favorite Spanish beer for sure...going to buy some more of these now!
Lots of fruity bitterness, with lemon and orange peel complimenting the peach and apricot undertones. Exactly my kind of beer, for hot weather or rainy as it currently is in Madrid...
Cannot really fault this, not quite as complex as the best American West Coast ones, though a seriously impressive attempt! Congrats La Sagra! As I cannot find anywhere in Madrid that sells West Coast IPA´s, this will keep me going until I am next in England where I can easily buy them. Muchas Gracias...

Nice to try a Spanish beer and a tasty one too. It has a nice hazy and golden appearance with a classic US IPA aroma, including pine nuts and a deep fruity depth. The taste is well balanced, with initial sweetness soon overtaken by a lovely hoppy hit. A nice attempt at a beer that is rarely seen in Spain.

From Hipercor. In Ikea's pint glass. After dinner. Nice aroma and provides a very refreshing feeling. The aspect is ugly, without foam and not much pale. Alcohol is well hidden. Avb 3.7
1 Jul 2018. In Teku glass. At lunch, with fried fish. From Carrefour. New label. Maybe a bit metallic, but has some nice hoppy notes, well adjusted bitterness and is fairly drinkable for the abv. Avg 3.73.
30 Mayo 2020. De Hipercor. Nueva etiqueta. En copa Teku. Viendo Batman vs Superman. Amargor marcado y fondo maltoso con cierta oxidación. Está bien pero le falta presencia del lúpulo en boca y aroma, resultando algo apagada. Por suerte el feel es estupendo y la salva del aburrimiento, animando a seguirla bebiendo
