bottle brewed in June 2012; poured into a goblet.

A - pours a deep black with minimal head -- a surprise! -- with what few bubbles it has clinging to the glass.

S - intense smoke smell with some background spiciness.

T - the taste heavily complements the flavor: all smoked malt with comparatively mild levels of spiciness. Some booze. Little else.

M - medium bodied with minimal carbonation. Sits on the tongue. Seems like the bottle didn't carbonate correctly?

O - Given that I've had better Smoked Porters from Hubrew, I'll chalk this up to poor luck, but: this beer is frighteningly average. Simple flavor that adheres strictly to the style but leaves a lot of room for improvement.

A- Pours an extremely dark almost moleases color with a 1 finger tannish fluffy white head that lingers for several minutes.

S - Great smelling beer. Chocolate hits me right off the bat. It also has a quite earthy aroma. There is a hint of smoke and roasted grains.

T - You can really taste the smoke right off the bat. Very pleasant. It also has strong chocolate undertones and a very bitter finish which surprised me. The bitternes does linger on the plalate for some time.

M - Medium to Medium Heavy bodied beer. Almost feels slick in the mouth.

O - Great porter. There is definately the smoke that they claim. The bitterness at the end is somewhat odd. It does linger for sometime and does not seem typical for a porter. Still a very enjoyable beer!
