Goddamn it. This beer is infected and just an awful idea. Stop making me have to write a fucking review.

Infected. Sourness covers the barrel and adjuncts. Pass on this one.

Bottle 95/212
Appearance: Pours a fudge brown color with a nice beige head; retention is decent enough and the lacing looks like icicles on the side of the chalice
Smell: Burnt toast and a lactic sourness, with a hint of coconut
Taste: The lactic sour tones take over from start to finish, with the coconut and burnt toast peeking through, in the middle; after the swallow, the sour tones once again overwhelm the other flavors, with the finish taking on a lactic berry character
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation; puckery
Overall: Having mulled over this beer I just can't say that this worked out all that well; I was intrigued by the concept, but barrel aging a 6.7% American Black Lager just doesn't appear to work very well in this instance; the lactic impact from the coconut overwhelms the underlying flavors and I cannot find any rum barrel flavor in the finished product
