Our callback to watching the fireworks on a balmy summer's eve. This brew was inspired by our favorite tasty rocket ice pop. Celebrating America and reflecting on our patriotism, we fondly remember those fantastic nights.

With a light bodied, sweet, and tart base this Berliner is balanced by a more bold wheat grist for mouthfeel and stronger backbone just like the good ol' US of A. With secondary fermentation on tart cherries, lime, and raspberry, Bull Pup pours a beautiful red-pink hue with pleasant fruity aromatics and a dry finish. Perfect to reminisce over those enchanting memories of carefree summers passed.

A: The beer is slightly hazy cherry red in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high light pink head that gradually died down, leaving a short head that covered most of the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of raspberries and lactobacillus are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of cherries along with notes of lime and raspberries as well as hints of lactobacillus and a tad bit of sourness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a bit creamy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and has a nice mix of fruity flavors in the taste, although it's hardly sour at all.

DATE: June 7, 2019... OCCASION: celebrating the first of Michael's ten games (a win) in ten days...and easing out of the failed septic at 8 Acorn... GLASSWARE: Chimay chalice... pours a clear, blood-red body with sparse bubbles dissipating into a briefly off-white-to-pink, vanishing head--kind of looks like a red velvet cake...the glass looks nice, but the label still looks better; quite festive.... its yeasty funk is noticeable, along with its cherry and raspberry, with hints of wheat grains and oats... tough to get traction on its aroma, but it doesn't off-put the next sip either... first sip rips with a fizzy buzz, tart and tooth-rattling... its finish is refreshing, rather clean, and highly sippable... an acidic finish warms the throat... its flavor profile is bold and fruity, lasting and syrupy tart... candied, winey, sweet, and slightly complex--a sangria that has a malty depth, a bit of funk, and a bite of weizen wheat.... the lime, banana and tropical fruits arrive late but are tangible after all...this indeed pops, making its fruitiness thick and desirable... a bit hot for 4.5% ABV... a dessertif or an afternoon refresher, this avails itself well...

L: Dark ruby body with a thin film of red-tinted foam that quickly fades away

A: Raspberry and Lime

T: Tart fruit punchy flavors. Acidic lime, tart cherry, and raspberry as well as some red wine grape notes. May be some Acetic acid as I do pick up a vinegar like tang. A little wheat note on the finish. Other than that malt and hop notes are nonexistent. The finish is crisp and dry.

F: Light and Crisp Body, Low bitterness but high tartness, no alcohol character, and nice high carbonation level.

Notes: The first can I had of this suffered from low carbonation and a heavy mouthfeel as well as a slick finish. I have no idea what happened but the second can was immensely better. I must have had one bad can or something but here we are and the second is much tastier and fits the style pretty well. The crispy carbonation really pricks at the tongue and makes for an enjoyable drinking experience. This is pretty damn sour though but it sure is refreshing. A Good beer and it definitely tastes like the ice pop its named after but I wouldn't go out of my way to get my hands on it. If you do find it though I would recommend picking it up.

Intense cranberry color. Just under a medium body with what I can only describe as plenty of fizzy carbonation.
Aroma first is a mix of straw and funk. Then cherry, lime, raspberry and a very earthy sour smell.
Taste is a bit like fruit punch for adults. Tart, slightly sour, with plenty of fruit and acidic lime.
Some wont like this but it really delivers on all flavors advertised as well as a decent match for the style.
Its definitely worth trying and probably would go great in warm weather and bbq food

Pours strawberry color. Light berry aroma. Nice mellow raspberry flavor, tart cherry, mildly sour finish. Crisp and bright, ample carbonation. Overall a very sessionable beer that I would buy again.

7/14/20 update.
Review from 2018 was all 4’s.
I don’t know if they tweaked the recipe or if my tastes changed, but this beer is exceptional. Pours a cloudy light red, like strawberry juice. Big tart cherry aroma. Flavor is mainly tart / sour cherry, some lime juice, and some raspberry. Has a very nice tartness balanced perfectly by a natural sweetness. Perfect balance. Overall, glad I picked up 3 of these, will try to get more. This is now one of my favorite beers.
