Solid black appearance.
Light carbonation with a just above average body. Has a very slight thick creamy feel which adds up to an excellent body.
Aroma is smokey sweet mocha which comes off really nice. Some roasted malt, wood, smoke and coffee.
Taste is smokey wood, mocha, dark cocoa, bakers chocolate, dark roasted coffee beans.
Overall it ticks off every category, nice body, really complex pleasant aroma. Taste follows aroma in that its complex and really enjoyable. This is definitely worth trying.

Looks a shade darker than coffee
Smells like clay and smoke and chocolate
Tastes smoky dry a little hint of blood
Feels smooth and full and soft but thin. Good hints of sweetness to balance it out. Not overly complex but no acrid or off notes from the smoke. Pretty decent overall.

Not the best Porter I have had recently. Has a coffee scent with a decent amount of smoke. Hints of coffee, toffee, smoke and chocolate. It pours dark with a tan head that doesn't last long. Minimal lacing and overall good carbonation. The smoke is overpowering with a soft coffee/toffee finish. Not on the top of the list of favorite porters. It's well made and presents well with a simple designed can. I highly recommend giving it a try but beware it's not outstanding. Hope this review helps.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a tulip glass.
Look: dark brown almost black with a tan head that quickly disappears. Some tan lancing remains.
Smell: smoke, coffee and chocolate
Taste: roasted coffee, smoke, and chocolate. Little to no bitterness.
Feel: Normal carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel that remains as it warms
Overall: Tasty beer if you enjoy smokey flavor. No bitterness and it improves as it warms

I had this on draught at Revolution Brew House in Morristown. It was served in a tulip glass. Unfortunately, it was served rather cold. It pours a dark walnut - almost black - with one full finger of frothy, khaki-colored head and lacing. I think this beer's best feature is its nose: aromatic roasted coffee, chocolate, toffee, and wood smoke. The taste lacks the sweetness of the nose; there is dry, light smoke, burnt coffee grounds, nuts, and very light hops. As the glass warmed I began to taste some chocolate but it was subdued. It has the typical porter feel: rather light, not very creamy, with mild carbonation. The 8% ABV is well-hidden. Overall, this is an enjoyable American Porter. If I had this in the can, then I would let it sit and warm before opening it. I think that would enhance the complexity of the taste. Still, it's another fine offering from Bolero Snort.

Appearance: pours a dark brown almost black color with a wispy head that disappears immediately.
Smell: light smokiness and some roasted tones come through.
Taste: roasted malts, dark chocolate, and hint of coffee. Bitterness is moderate, and the smoke flavor is soft and not overpowering. Alcohol is slightly noticeable.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Light crispness to start, smooth and bit silky at the finish. Long lasting smokey aftertaste.
Overall: a perfect beer with some BBQ. I found this to have a nice flavor profile and one of the better smoked porters I have had.
