DATE: November 12, 2023... OCCASION: having wrapped up the first season of Ahsoka last night, I will cap the weekend with this cool-labeled offering from Bolero Snort... pours a sizzling fizziness that settles quickly to a headless, opaque grapefruit-colored that darkens at its base... a thin rim of whiteness touches the glass... aromatic white chocolate, orange zest, grapefruit, sugary esters, and some berry suggest a fruity desertif is on its way... engaging and aggressive... its body is effervescent but substantial, puckering and juicy... it evokes the thickness of a milkshake, but slakes off to a comfortable softness at the throat.... this avoids the astringent acidity that abounds in this genre... the chocolate, vanilla, and orange don't scream "surviving jedi," but I like the combination much better than I like the chocolate oranges that masquerade as stocking stuffers.... there's also grapefruit, papaya, and a serious citrus tang that suggests this could be a poolside drink in a warmer outdoor setting... again, other than the color tie-in, not much Ahsoka here, but a fun, flavorful beer that fits a number of situations... juicy and diverse in its flavor profile....
