Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. Aromas of sweet bourbon chocolate swirled in with marshmallow and walnuts. Flavors of layers of chocolate, heaps of creamy madagascar vanilla caviar, rounded out with black walnut.

This (Rocky Road from Bolero Snort in Carlstadt NJ) is appropriately named, because it tastes like Rocky Road ice cream, with loads of milk chocolate, marshmallow, and almonds, plus the barrel at the back of the palate that provides a nice bit of warming.
I was concerned this pastry stout would be too sweet, but those concerns were unfounded, because this is actually well balanced for the style. Rich and creamy mouthfeel, and it looks great in the glass, with a pure black body and a dense mocha colored head. Really good stuff, IMHO.
