This most excellent Belgian style ale from the fine folks at Fifty West has been on tap prior to
a limited bottling. This review is for the bottled version, thus a guess that it is a potential
rotating brew. The bottle notes it was bottled in Spring of 2014 as part of the Remus
Revenge Series No. 5.
Poured from a the bottle this ale has a beautiful amber golden color with a light white head
that dissipates to light pools of tight beaded foam and nice light lacing. Nose of sweet Belgian
candy malts, coriander, moderate alcohol, and malty goodness abounds. Taste profile is very
flavorful with a Belgian candy sugar flavor to the sides and a light apricot like fruit profile to
the back and on the aftertaste blending nicely with hints of coriander light alcohol warmth.
Smooth as silk mouthfeel with light carbonation makes it true to style for the purists. A most
excellent Belgian style tripel from a fine brewery in Cincinnati.
