Toasted malt nose with nutmeg hints. Whole mouth feel, quite creamy. Finish is medium with marshmellow and that baked sweet potato.

Can flavor be cozy? Fifty West brewers think so. And they put as many of those cozy fall flavors into the beer can as they can reasonably cram. With the character of pecan pie, sweet potato cassarole and pumpkin pie, their stronger Brown Ale is definitely a fall fest in a glass.
Reasonably dark brown, Home Sweet Home immediately builds a creamy ivory froth upon the pour. As its chocolaty, toasty and nutty scents swoon the nose, the basic brown ale character takes the early lead. And its those flavors that also capture the sweet tooth with the richness of caramel, molasses, honey and chocolate in a slightly off-praline kind of way.
Much of the same transpires as the dark ale spreads across the middle palate. A malty-sweet taste starts reel in the taste of candied pecans, toast, coffee and chocolate in a toastier, nearly roasty taste. Low in bitterness, the hops add just enough of a woodsy offset to the lingering malt sweetness to offer a high rate of palatability to go along with its malty focus.
Medium full on the palate, the added starch of sweet potato keeps the session creamy and rounded while allowing the toasty and woodsy finish of the Brown Ale to shine. A medium long aftertaste of chocolate and molasses keep that sweet tooth happy and without becoming cloying or fatiguing at all.

Huge hit of cinnamon, ginger, and clove in aroma, very perfumey.
Flavor reveals specialty malt fruitiness, which clashes a bit with the ginger dominance.
