Enjoyed from the growler via Growlers not Flowers for Valentines Day in a Duinen snifter. This ale pours a rich reddish orange with a firm off white head that dissipates to a very thin ring and mild lacing. Nose of dark fruits, raisins, figs, caramel malts, and moderate booze. Flavors follow the nose with brown sugar sweetness and caramel to the front and sides with sweet dark fruit notes of raisins, figs, and black ripe plums. Back features a sweet lightly coated caramel flavor that is far from cloying with some alcohol kick in the aftertaste. Slick mouth feel and light carbonation makes this a nice warmer on a cold day.....or as the little lad would say, a fine summer sipper!
