Enjoyed from the growler via the brewery in a snifter. This nice dubbel pours a deep amber with red highlights, and a moderate head of white dissipating foam that subsides to a thin ring, subtle pool, and decent lacing. Nose of apple cider and light brown sugars with subtle herbal notes. Flavors exceed the nose with baked apple and light candy sugar elements, subtle bread notes on the sides, and sweet malts on the rear. All in all a very nice sipper with moderate carbonation, medium body, and a lightly sweet and coating effect on the aftertaste. A nice take on a Belgian classic.
Cheers
