THOROUGHLY enjoyed from the growler via the brewery in a snifter.
This awesome barelywine pours a chill hazed bright medium mahogany
with tinges of red and a beautiful head of off white foam that settles to a
thick ring, thin pool, and features some nice lacing. Nose of raisins, brown
sugars, subtle piney hops, and raisins. Flavors follow the nose but exceed in
presentation with light brown sugars and golden raisins touched by medium piney
and herbal hops and followed by light toffee and subtle cherry notes.
Very nice carbonation, medium high, effervescent and tingly, but outside of
the norm of the style, BUT it is a near perfect and this "flaw" to some keeps it
refreshing which is an odd word for a barleywine with such well hidden alcohol.
Overall.....excellent. As good or better than 10 and 2 from the same brewer.
VERY NICE!
Cheers
