Dark As The Dickens Maple Porter

Enjoyed from the growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate in a snifter. This nice
porter collaboration with Great Lakes Brewing pours a murky blackish brown with
a modest head of off white foam that subsides to a thick ring, thin wafting pool,
and light lacing. Nose of coffee, cocoa, subtle maple, subtle char, and deeply
roasted malts. Flavors exceed the nose with dark cocoa and medium strong dark coffee
notes awash in medium char notes with a nice light maple note that is not overpowering.
Nice mouth feel, more stout than porter, bitter malt and char finish with a touch of sweetness,
medium carbonation, and a light coating effect. Overall a fantastic porter from two of my
favorite breweries. Nice.
