From a snifter via the brewery. This rather nice little quad pours a dark mahogany with a
moderate head of white foam that settles to a thick ring, thin layer, and nice light lacing.
Nose of dark brown sugars, yeasty esters of bananas, light herbal notes, strong astringent
booze, and subtle cherry notes. Flavors subtly exceed the nose with cherry and very strong
grain booze touched with brown sugars and dark breaded malts with a touch of clove and
banana on the middle to rear. Nice mouth feel yet a touch un-refined with very strong astringent
booze and dark malts with a light carbonation and strong burn that finishes subtly dry and very
warm. Overall a decent quad but could use some tweaking to the recipe to bring in some
balance to the heat with richer malt and raisin and cherry notes.
Mild critique but not a criticism, would have again.
Cheers
