Enjoyed from the growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate in a snifter. This mighty
nice oatmeal stout pours a muddled blackish brown with cola highlights and
the most unique colored foam I think I may have ever seen that is light khaki
touched with tinges of purple that fades to a thick ring, thin pool, and showcases
nice light sudsy lacing. Nose shows notes of boysenberries/blackberries,
subtle coffee, and subtle chocolate notes. Flavors exceed the nose with boysenberry
touched with mild cold pressed coffee and smoothed out with oats and bakers chocolate.
Nice mouth feel; medium light body making for high quaff-ability, medium light carbonation
to keep things lively, and a chocolate and berry touched finish.
Overall this is a unique little stout with fruit added that is balanced and equal the sum of it's
parts. Worth trying and should be entered in the next competition for flavored stouts.
