From the growler via DEPS in NKY in a snifter. This interesting
little stout pours a dark blackish brown with a cola highlights and
and a decent head of off white foam that settles to a thin ring
with subtle lacing. Nose of roasted nuts, subtle char and roast,
light coffee, and moderately rich fudge elements. Flavors exceed
the nose by presentation with a roasted walnut and rich cocoa
over a deep roasted malt note with hints of coffee and subtle
char with touches of campfire marshmallow and light warming
booze. Nice mouth feel; medium full body, low carbonation,
and a rich chocolate and roasted nut finish that is lightly
dry.....very nicely done!
Nut allergen sufferers be aware---this one is on the high end
of the scale of the walnut ranking and will cause some problems.
It is solid but this is my only taste of it---the rest the little lady
will enjoy.
Cheers
