From the growler via DEPS in NKY and enjoyed in a snifter. This mighty nice
little barley wine pours a chill hazed ruby tinged lightly murky amber with a
nice head of off white foam that settles to a thin ring, light wafting pool, and
displays some very subtle lacing. Nose of subtle tropical fruits, dates, golden
raisins, and earthy malts. Flavors show an interesting blend of flavors with a
hint of maple, honey, raisin, date, touches of chocolate malt, vanilla, and
a brulee of coconut and marshmallow....unique! Excellent mouth feel for the
style; medium body---drinks like a smooth stout almost, medium light carbonation,
and a lightly warming and ever so subtly dry finish.
An excellent collaboration with The Barrel House (wish it was the old Cincy one---
miss that place!).
Cheers
