a tasty glass of amber here. i have always liked the beers these guys make, i think they are way ahead of the curve, but this is one of the more simplistic styles and brews i have had from them, and its not overly impressive. there is a nice head on it and good carbonation, not too sweet, fuller bodied, the mouthfeel is excellent. however, the flavors seem a little underdeveloped, and there is a tannic property in here, almost acidic for a second, that suggests some errors on the technical side, maybe too warm on the sparge or something. its not way off though, and there is a nice biscuity character in with the sweeter red and caramel malts. it gives it cool balance and prevents the sugar from getting out of control. its pretty well hopped too, and its obvious that the recipe for this beer is well thought out. it could use a little reworking, but this is so much better than all the sugary sweet amber beers everyone seems to make, i just prefer their more inventive stuff.
