Pours a deep brown with a nice mocha head. A very impressive and inviting aroma with some nice roastiness, some creaminess, and a bold milk chocolate. The appearance and aroma had my expectation sky high, unfortunately the flavor proved to be a bit of a letdown. Started off weak and watered down. It wanted to showcase some chocolate and roasted barley but the wateryness of it diluted that down a lot. Disappointing. However, the finish slightly redeemed the flavor here and that chocolate and roasted barley really came through well in the end paired with a hit of some bitterness. A medium body with slight activity. Overall, seems like they wanted to make their imperial stout in a lower abv stout variety and they have some tweaking to do to make that conversion work right.
