Draught @ Fenway Location: This one pours a clear, paler yellow color. There was a small white head that didn’t leave much (if any) lacing. Lighter nose. Some malts and grassiness. The taste was a bit lighter too, but not bad. Some malts, hint of grain and a hint of hops. Very drinkable, but non-descript.

Very good starting head that settles to a thin layer of bubbles. Leaves two rings on the first two sips. Clear straw to gold color.

The smell starts off with a stronger grain than malt aroma.

The flavor mimics the smell except for a modest hop presence. Pleasant but unremarkable. Very good body with mid-level carbonation.

On-tap at Beer Works Fenway

A: The beer pours an extremely pale yellow color with a small white head.

S: The aroma is very sweet, far more than expected for a Helles. Definitely a bit of corn and straw. Maybe a bit of grass and bread in there, too. Not much aroma to this.

T: Similar to the aroma in terms of flavor. It's a bit watery and very light bread/malt and just little hop flavor. There's a touch of corn and straw, maybe some grass and a faint bitterness.

M: Light in body with low to medium carbonation.

O: I enjoy a good Helles, but this was not one of those.

Pours a crystal clear medium gold with almost a red tint to it. Topped with a two finger creamy white head, leaves rings of lacing and partial webs behind.
Malt and grain aroma, quite sweet.
Sweet taste, malt - lightly toasted, light grass, a toffeeish note, almond, and macaroon cookie.
Light bodied, good drinkability, not their best but perfectly acceptable.

This beer poured a clear golden body with a small white head.

The nose was soft malt.

The taste was very light. Light, crisp and very creamy. There’s a soft grainy, husky malt taste that is balanced against a light bitterness. It’s all very soft but in perfect balance. There’s also soft earth hop taste. It ends dry and quick with a nice bitterness.

Basically a very simple but tasty blonde. Nothing to go crazy over, but a nice simple session beer that is enough to please any BA and at the same time simple enough not to scare away a macro drinker. Worth a try if you’d had the rest.

Again, had this at the Salem location.

Golden copper when poured, had a slightly fruity aroma.

Medium bodied, good balance between the malt and the hops.

What I liked best about this beer was the level of carbonation, I thought it was just right. Had a bit of bite to it.

Would get again. Pat

A decent summertime lager. A slightly less-than-tan lager, though, I think, somewhat inappropriately called "blond." The nose is entirely malt-driven; it smells like a lump of wet grains. It's very sweet up front and finishes with a slightly sour flavor as well as the expected bitterness. I'm by no means a big hophead, but I expected a little more balance. I was left with a big malty, wet flavor in my mouth as an aftertaste. The mouthfeel was very thick and creamy -- Mayo-like. Definitely a sturdy beer.
