Superb head for a cask beer.
I smell hop pellets and to a lesser extent, caramel and yeast.
Starts as expected--smooth, warm, and malty. The swallow, however, is completely surprising: I taste a combination of charcoal ash and coffee grounds. The aftertaste is more subtle, but lasts a really long time. Low carbonation naturally. A bit watery.
Interesting, but the flavors do not match my preferences.
