look: 4.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4
Presentation: On tap in a slender 20 oz glass.

Appearance: Bight amber-orange with overtones of red, clarity is brilliant and sparkling. Semi active carbonation with a thin and creamy head with a head retention that holds strong.

Smell: Waft of lightly toasted grain, mildly fresh herbal hop in the clean aroma. Undertones of a long drawn-out husk that seems indistinctly astringent.

Taste: Muscular medium body, pretty damn smooth with a remarkable crispness. Clean palate with a dry malt character on the palate that battles with the hops for dominance throughout. Some malt sweetness peaks out for a brief moment but is quickly pushed back down by the spicy aggressive hops. Clean warming alcohol is slightly noticeable. Big flavours of toasted grain and husk, hops are quite bitter with a peppery and lightly herbal flavour. Malt and hops give up the fight for dominance though the malt leaves a trail of puckering husk that goes deep into the finish.

Notes: Flavourful with a punch of hops, husk flavour seems a bit too much but the beer is big enough to keep it in control. A big old world style lager with a neatly placed alcohol to boot.
