Clear amberish hue, good lacing. Very smooth. Aroma and flavor of multi-grain bread. Mildly buttery with a faint spice in the nose and palate. Kiss of hop bitterness with a light twang from the yeast.

Super drinkable and went perfect with my country fried chicken salad.

Not sure what to make of this beer. The flavor is very intricate thanks to the grain bill: barley, wheat, oats and rye were all used. Very light on the hops. I experienced bitter, sweet, tangy and sour all at once; all in that order and in about one second with each sip. There was a slight spicy bite to the beer also. The beer poured a clear and shiny bronze. A filmy head that formed a sticky lace. Nose is unique: grainy and sweet; reminds me of mud on the ol' farm. Mouthfeel is a tad thin of being crisp. Little dryness to the finish. Rye sticks to the tongue. This beer did not bore me so much as overwhelm me, it would be tough to drink more than one of these it is so complex.

12oz tulip-shaped goblet at Canal St.
It pours a lovely orange-hued amber color with a fast-fading off-white and thin trails of lace.
The aroma is mostly of wet hay with a bit of a grainy background smell. The bit of a floral whiff is pleasant enough.
The light bodied malt carries a white bready taste along with a mildly fruity (mostly apples) flavor, and ever so slight lemony tang.
Even, if a bit thin, this brew is true to the style. A hint of a basil-like herbal taste weaves in and out. Very drinkable...nice!

Told my wife I missed her very much (she knew) with this one on 5/3/2005. 12-oz. goblet pour at the Canal Street location.

Silty sheen of coating with some noticeable lace and a light, very light amount of stick. Terminally light mahogany/orange hue with glowing clarity and mostly mute. Rock candy sweet on nose with some low level malt backing things up; almost seems like there could be some clover in there too. Clangy malt is fairly full on the mouth and doesn’t stick, making this fairly refreshing and drinkable. The rock candy noted also dissipates quickly to be replaced with a tiny touch of earthiness.

Quality brew, yet again a seasonal gets respectable marks.
