Copper to brown color. Hard to tell, but there seems to be a haze. Small head that disappears quickly leaving nearly no lace (I count the spots).
What I expected: Sweet molasses like nose. What I got: Earthy and metallic smells.
The taste steps toward the expectation with more sugar and less off flavors. It's closer to a well hopped Bock. The body is richer but less than the sugar content suggests. Good carbonation. Overall, this isn't quite there but it still works.
