Stopped by last Friday for a few beers, and was surprised to see a few names on the beer menu. I hadn't been here in a while, so I wanted to try something new. I started with the Winter Works on cask that was aged on cabernet wood chips. Comes served in a pint glass with a very fluffy, lingering head. The color was pale brown, with a slight twinge of purple in the the foam. The smell was intriguing, with a combo of ale's spices and wine's fruitiness that I could not place. The taste was very good. There was a nutmeg taste at the front of the mouth, but a black cherry flavor from the wine as I savored it on the palate. The perfect temperature of this cask brew made it very smooth to drink. An excellent offering from BBW.
