Clear and golden colored. One finger initial head. Decent streaks for lace.
There's a spiciness I wasn't expecting -- a combination of lavender and anise. It smells more like a soap than a beer.
Smooth pale malt start. Next comes the aforementioned soapy element. Here it's a bit distracting. The finish is mildly bitter but relatively nondescript. The body and carbonation are in the middle of the road. Overall, this is an interesting beer as it is unusual. I would probably prefer to place this beer in the "spice" category even if none are actually added.
