Salem Brew Works- Pale Ale

A- Golden copper with a foamy head. Good ringed lacing on my glass.
S- Good strong caramel malt, bread crust, and a touch of pine.
T- Sweet candy caramel malt, bread crust, sweet touch of lemon and orange rind. Mild pine hop presence in the end.
M- Sweet and chewy with a dry body and solid citric/ pine hop finish.

Overall- Very good and tasty. My first beer from Salem and A good start! A must if you visit the pub.

Growler filled at the brewpub the other day.

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 1/4" beige head over the clear golden amber brew. Head is quickly down to a layer of swirly bubbles, with excellent lasting lace. Aroma is citrus and pine hops, with some malt backbones for support. Taste isn't spaced out, just all flavors at once, kind of a pine cone with lemon sugar glaze. Mouthfeel could improve with a bit more carbonation, probably due to growler presentation, but drinkability is very simple, very easy. Nice representative APA.

Served as a medium amber colored beer with modest white puffy head.
Smell is lightly hoppy with a modest malt presence in the background.
Taste also has a modest hop note, and some light fruit is also present.
Finishes with some light hoppiness, but little taste retention.
An average, non-offensive beer.

Tall glass of cloudy gold that takes an age to clear into a honey colored beer topped by a huge creamy froth. Leaves chutes and ladders and lumps of merigue all down the sides.

Sweet citrus scent.

Sweet middle of the road caramel malt with a squeeze of grapefruit in the finish. Nice to see what a light touch with the cascades can do.

Where it really stands out is its creaminess. This reminds you why some idiot thought nitro could simulate cask. Except nitro is nothing like this. It's so rich and smooth and creamy, this beer dialled my number and I picked up four times. Yum!

Did I mention the creamy mouthfeel?

Pours a slightly hazy brownish-amber, topped with a two finger creamy off-white head, leaves thick puffy webs of lacing.
Light tofee, tea, biscuit and citrus aroma.
Toffee, tea and citrus taste.
Light to medium bodied, creamy, very easy to drink. Struck me as more of a British than American Pale ale, fairly low hop presence.

Again, had this at the Salem location.

Cloudy copper in color, with that 'cask' aroma.

Citrusy mouthfeel, with a malty backbone. Would call it light to medium in body.

Very refreshing, probably due to its freshness. Mild in flavor, but not overly so. Pat

I sampled this pale ale on cask at the Salem Beer Works.

This pale ale poured a hazy, dark-golden color with full, creamy, white foam that did not leave much lace on the glass. The smell was mostly floral hops, but with some citrus. The taste was a tad sour. The flavor was mild, with some malt and a hint of floral hops, but with a coriander-like flavor. The mouthfeel was smooth and creamy with a hop finish. The drinkability was OK, but I was turned off by the slight sourness and the coriander-like flavor.

Faded pale copper hue with a great clarity and decent lacing. Clean citric aroma with a light grain that is close to a biscuity smell. Moderate body, very crisp with a level and textured carbonation. Pungently citric with a biting hop bitterness. Bit of juicy fruit on the tongue. Puckering semi-dry finish of left over citric / leafy hop. Quite close to Sierra Nevada Pale Ale but more of a Cascade flavour throughout. Spot on for style.
