Presentation: I recently drank a pint of this beer after visiting the BA Stammtisch Festival. Before heading for Airport on the Monday, myself and fellow So.Cal. BA xlperro headed out to look at an old pile of bricks, which is the home of some Rounders playing dudes who wear red socks apparently. Being a Limey Soccer Hooligan type, I was much more interested in the Boston Beer Works opposite Fenway Park. After having a sample of xlperros Allston Mild, I fancied a pint myself.
Appearance: A rather classic dark brown Mild Ale look. Light beige head comprised of large bubbles. Some lacing and average carbonation.
Nose: Freshly un-bagged malts mixed with a hint of yeast. A feint-ish nose that even so has a very appealing character. I am sure there was a fruity-Port like odor in there as well.
Taste: Easy going malts, lightly toasted with a caramel and wholemeal bread tasting finish. Drinks with exceptional clean lines and finishes with a delicate bitterness.
Mouthfeel: It actually has rather good mouthfeel, for a Mild Ale, I expected less to be honest, much less and was pleasantly surprised to end up with so much body resting in the mouth.
Drinkability: A solid Mild Ale easy drinking, light tastes but a great mouthfeel makes this a very pleasant offering. Pairs well with food, it washed the Nachos down that xlperro ordered rather well.
Overall: Not often you see a Mild in the States, so Top Marks to the Beer Works for even daring to make one in the first place. Its a decent enough attempt and worthy of a try, quite drinkable to boot.

Bright tawny hue, tiny bubbled head. Good retention.
Bready doughy biscuit malt character, faint fruitiness in the aroma and flavour. Touch of nutty yeast and more bready flavour in the finish. One of the lightest yet most flavourful brews at Beer Works, did a good job washing down the fries and gravy.

Presentation: On Tap.
Appearance: Amber-caramel in colour with a off white creamy lace that sticks.
Smell: Faint malt aromas.
Taste: Light, grain, semi-toasted and semi-tart malt flavours surround the taste buds. There is minimal hop bitterness and goes dry towards the end.
Notes: Are milds making a come back? Very drinkable, easy on the palate, aka session ale.
