Had at Terminal C at Logan Airport
7/2 service in a pint glass.
A: This beer pours a deep, dark, almost black color that when held to the light show minor brown hues. Two finger of khaki colored head that retains nicely. Glass is covered in sheets of lacing.
S: Nose is very muted. Smells somewhat like a brown ale - nutty and malty.
T: Taste starts off with some caramel malts and a touch of nuttiness. Finish has a ton of spicing - lots of corriander and pepper notes. I could actually feel the pepper on my tongue.
M: Medium body, medium carbonation, creamy mouth with a slightly oily finish.
D: Not a bad beer, but not a great beer. Goes down somewhat easily, alright blend, ok representation of style. I'd opt for others of the style though.

On tap at Fenway BBW on Sunday 2/21/10. A new beer for them; their attempt at a Belgian brown ale. Light brown color. No head really. Smell was not very noticeable. Taste was good, it had a bit of spiciness to it, backed up by some malt to give it some smooth flavor. Mouthfeel was pleasant. Not a great beer, but a decent stab at the style.
