Listed as a Winter Works, it pours a rusty copper color with a thin, fast-fading off-white head and lots of lacing.
A smell of crushed rye crackers, toasted malt and resinous hops are distinct but equal until the sweetness of the malt inches forward and takes center stage. A wisp of a dark toast is in the background.
The flavors pretty much mirror the aromas, except you notice more citrusy and tobacco notes.
This is a real easy drinker. How a Zoiglbier is perceived as a winter beer is unclear, but I’ll buy it anyway

On tap at BBW Fenway on Sunday 2/21/10. Asked the served what this beer was, and she wasn't quite sure. She said it was a Belgian ale that the brewer just put on tap. Figured I'd give it a shot. Light brown color. No head and no lacing. Smell was boring. Taste was pretty bland also. Very watery mouthfeel, and combined with very little flavor, made this beer not very much fun to drink. I applaud the brewer for trying a new style, but this one was a strikeout.
Edit: Just was relayed info from the brewer at BBW that this is a Kellerbier.
