Stopped by BBW Canal St on Friday night after work for a quick pint. After looking through all the new winter beers on tap, I settled on the Dankfest Double Bock. Served in a tulip glass for $7. Muddy brown color, with a frothy and milky head. Smell had a subtle chocolate-like aroma. Taste was pleasing. It had a satisfying coffee flavor, and a lot of sweet malt. Mouthfeel was on the thicker side, like a weak frappe. The beer seemed to get a bit better as it warmed to room temp. Easy beer to drink, and the abv was not too apparent. A good brew to introduce someone to the style.
