Poured on tap and served in a 22oz glass, the beer is a dark, opaque, chestnut brown coloring with a thin, filmy, off-white head that coats the surface and clings to the glass. Aromas of nut sweetness, with a creamy blend, and a touch of roasting. You have to get your nose in there to pick anything up, the aromas are subtle. Flavors of a slightly heavier roast than the nose leads you to expect, with a sweet hazelnut backbone and a touch of chocolate bittersweet. Pretty well balanced palate. Light and smooth in mouth, the beer has a roasty sweet aftertaste, with a slightly cloying, sweet finish. Good representation of the style.
