The crown jewel of our lager program. Pravy is Czech for “true” or “genuine” and appropriately named as we set out to brew the most authentic version of this style that we could. The biggest challenge was replicating the water profile unique to Pilzn, Czech Republic. This mean stripping the mineral content of our Minneapolis water and correcting the water chemistry until the Pilzn profile was achieved Then it is lagered for a full 6 week, which makes the beer clear and “clean” tasting. Czech Saaz hops and floor malted malt are used and give a spicy, floral aroma with a bready malt richness.

On tap. White head with some lace. Clear straw gold.
Nice and hoppy. Crisp, clean, smooth, bitter. Floral, grassy, bready, biscuity. Honey crackers.
This is incredibly drinkable and well made. Not surprised this tastes like TH Saaz pils.

this is light but flavorful, traditional but distinctive, and honestly a beer worthy of some acclaim as one of the better american made pils types ive had all year, they really nailed this one, quite possibly their best beer to date, at least in my limited experience with their stuff it is! wow. its crystal clear with lovely head retention and perhaps just a half shade darker than some, almost brassy looking in the right light. a steady stream of carbonation rises up and keeps the head alive. its got an obvious saaz profile in the nose and taste, but thats one of many elements at work here, fresh and herbal and limey as it is. the grain doesnt quite have the same european profile i am used to in the style, which is to say less dusty, less mineral forward, and less crackery, there is just a bit more richness here, even a subtle spiciness reminiscent of a little pale rye in here, although i dont think there is. its dry though, and seemingly more fresh and flavorful than is common. the yeast is right on, classic for the style, expertly used and patiently lagered. this has immaculate crispness matched with high carbonation, exactly right for the style and truly drinkable forever. there is nice bitterness from the hops at the end as it dries out, also very fresh, and there is a snappy brisk closure here, just gone after each sip. a really refreshing and satisfying pils that could have come from the old world. this is money!
