This beer arrives a clear ruby color. The head is one inch in height, and recedes slowly into a small cap of sticky lacing. The aroma is quite floral with hints of citrus, and some toffee and caramel in the background. The taste is maltier than the aroma, but the hops are still rather pronounced without being over the top. There is a mild bitterness in the finish which keeps thing from becoming sticky. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation, and a smooth texture. Overall, this is a good beer. It drinks like a hoppy amber, but with the deeper malt character of a Scottish ale. I would surely drink this again.
