The lady waiting on me at the brewery recommended this one and I am glad I listened. Nice reddish amber tone, off-white head not too aggressive. Nose with some yeasty notes to balance the hops. Taste, a sweet malty base with hops above it. Hops were calm, balanced, not out of control. What I consider a sane IPA style rather than a mouth-burning hop bomb, which this was not. Good stuff, and reminded me of Sierra Nevada's Ruthless Rye (similar style).

On draft at the brewery. enjoyed this one most out of draft selections. Would get again I hope to see them do well. Very nice to have a local brewery in town.

Sampled too many that day to give attributes....from the brewer:
"In honor of those who rose to the challenge of the American dream, we've taken great pride in producing an American style IPA which itself rises to the occasion. Valley Rye IPA blends a delicate roast malt and snappy rye profile that together support it's noticeable hop flavor. Valley Rye's mild bitterness makes it the perfect session IPA. Suggested pairings include strong spicy foods such as curry." (50 IBU)
