Look: It pours almost pitch black although a little light does get through. It has a dark brown head that produces good lacing.
Smell: It has a sweet malt aroma with roasted aromas and caramel.
Taste It has flavors of caramel, roasted malts, and some smoke.
Feel: It has a smooth texture and a moderately bitter finish.
Overall: This beer has a unique characteristic in the complexity of the caramel, roasted, and smokey elements with the plums in balanced support.

Enjoyed this at the brewery / brewpub in Staunton. Blackish with a dark tan head, typical stout appearance. In some ways the smell reminded me of cooked meat, an interesting little extra. Taste with raisiny notes, not as sweet as I'd expect for a milk stout - I was surprised to see this one categorized that way rather than as an American stout. Hops are fairly mild. Not as creamy as an oatmeal stout would typically be, either. All together, a decent stout but not exceptional.

A very drinkable (in multiples) sweet stout with an inerestingly low 4.0 ABV. Nothing overpowering here, but it does represent a mild, but good balance for this brew.
From the brewer:
"Only lightly hopped, our Resolute Stout is a rich creamy balance of chocolate and coffee grains. At 4% ABV, Resolute stout is hardy yet never offends. This beer offers all the balanced complexity you have come to love in well crafted beers." (80 IBU)
