Vault Brewing Co. "High And Dry"
$4/half pint at the brewery on 14 April 2018

Notes: Listed at 6.3% abv, and "v 3.0". Of all of the IPAs I've sampled from Vault this one is more deep golden while the others have a bit of an orange color to them. It's hazy, perhaps from dry hopping. Very good head retention and lacing. The aroma is citrusy (mainly lemon/lime), piney, and almost cedar-like or just "woody". The flavor follows with some grainy malt that just lightly sweetish, and some additional fruity depth that might be from hops, or might be from yeast. It's interestingly moderately bitter for an IPA but I guess that's the trend these days and I have no problem with it as it remains nicely balanced. In the mouth it's soft and smooth with a medium body and lesser than standard carbonation. It has a dry finish that's woody, spicy, and piney with just a touch of citrus rind remaining. Very nicely done, and also a little bit unique. Well worth trying.

One of the more unique hoppy beers produced by the Vault from my standpoint. Very, very dry upfront, hence the name. Lingering bitterness with a balance of juice and pine on the finish.
