16 oz can poured into a Vault glass (slender bottom half, bells out and then tapers to the top). 2017 Early Spring Release. Belgian Golden Ale brewed with pacifica and mandarina Bavaria. with orange blossom honey, so basically your Delirium or Duvel golden ale base with orange blossom honey added. No canning date listed but has been released with the past two weeks. Orange blossom honey is made by placing a beehive near orange trees during blooming season and having those bees pollinate with the flowers of the orange trees. The result is a much fruiter tasting honey than your average clover honey. This is also very hard to come by due to the precise location of the bees and orange groves.
L - bright golden color, hazy hue with clear highlights towards the bottom; two finger head, sturdy bubbly, bone white foam
S - Belgian yeast is very prevalent, similar to Hoegaarden, Leffe, and Duvel. Slight grapefruit/orange notes, but mostly yeast aroma
T - orange note overlapping light Belgian malt, little sweetness, with spicy yeast overtones through the whole sip. Orange blossom honey is no joke in this, clear as day orange candy flavor, almost along the lines of honey in tea with that citrus zip
F - clean and crisp from the light malt, sweetness of the honey glides over the palate with a finish of spice.
O - Great spring time beer for the hefty beer lover. Goldens tend to be the fancier beer but this packs a big beer with the perfect additive that really furthers the style to a whole new level. Honey really balances out that stingy Belgian yeast and makes this a pleasant beer. Cheers!
