Pours a muddy brownish copper color with a thin layer of head. There is the modest hint of pie spices in the nose. The flavor profile also has the pie spices along with a hint of yam. The finish is pleasantly semi-dry. The mouthfeel is smooth but also a bit flat.

Kept inside a pint can until this recent pour into a clear glass Imperial pint mug. The now decanted liquid is bright copper colored and semi-translucent, with a slight off-white head. It smells rich in spices, with cinnamon and nutmeg prominent. Lightly smooth, the ale tastes just like the spices that flavor sweet potato and pumpkin pies. The head didn't sustain and there is no glass lacing. Like it's smell, the taste is predominantly nutmeg and cinnamon, with the listed vanilla and molasses barely noticed. Only mildly sweet, the spices, hops and probably the alcohol contribute to a dry and slightly bitter finish. That part is nice. What's not so great is the mouthfeel. There's just not enough body to warrant nitro propulsion and this becomes rather flat, rather quickly. The original should be better.
