Thanks to a fine trader for this 12 oz. can, stark black & silver that looks like it might be auditioning as the official beer of the Oakland Raiders.
The can’t pop is impressive, the beer black, the head minimal. There’s a touch of roast & sweet malt in the scent, but it’s surprisingly light.
Vault Coffee Stout tastes like coffee from an all-you-can eat buffet. Thin, watery, & without enough coffee kick to make up for the lack of body.
I was hoping for a ’session coffee stout’ or some kissing cousin, but this is too much like microwave Folgers. Simply a terrible beer (& confirmed by my coffee-loving wife).

Appearance: Dark, thick, little white head.
Smell: Strong coffee and malt.
Taste: Strong coffee with light malt in the background.
Mouthful: Very thin beer with velvet silkiness.
Overall: I really like this beer with its strong coffee taste. I like strong bold flavors in my beer and this beer does not disappoint. Its very easy to drink because it has this velvet silkiness drinking it. What could have made this beer perfect in my opinion would have been a higher abv and thicker consistency as I like thicker imperial stouts but you know what its still an awesome beer and I will drink it anytime its on tap.

A: dark, very small head as befits a beer engine pull.
S: Coffee. That's it...
T: Coffee. That's basically it, there was a very slight roast malt character.
M: thin
O: It was like someone took a black lager and cup of coffee and mixed the two of them in about a 1:1 ratio, or maybe even 1:2. There just wasn't enough body in the beer to compensate for the overwhelming coffee nose or flavor.
Definitely not a pull I'll have again. Maybe it's better on draft?
