Appearance: nice black color with a thick 3" head that lasted a long time before dropping to a thick surface covering.
Smell: roasted malts and some grains were soft on the nose.
Taste: roasted malt, a hint of coffee, a mild bitterness, and oats created a simple and straightforward beer.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Lightly crisp to start, a bit smoother with a touch of dryness at the finish. The roasted flavors linger softly on the tongue after swallowing.
Overall: a nicely drinkable oatmeal stout that will hit the spot when you are looking for the style.
