33 cl bottle @ home. Pours a deep ruby/copper colour. Big beige/reddish head with a layer of 2 mm retention and some lacing. Aroma's of grain/malt, yeast, moss (or the usual BT mossy yeast), fruity. Retronasal it's malty, bitter, fruity and mossy. Flavour is fairly bitter with light malty sweetness. Medium bodied and quite licely carbonation. Dry mouthfeel. Finish is earthy bitter.

Beer is brewed using a recipe from Truman's brewery from 1918. It is part of their historical beer series and contains adjuncts of maize and invert sugar.
medium to fine sized bottles during the pour reduce to a pillowy lasting head. The body is dark copper with with medium bubbles
smell is of caramel malts, bread, molasses, no hops
starts out bready and just a little sweet, dries out and ends astringent and with lingering bitterness
Body is on the chewy side with lively carbonation
I have no idea how a Burton Ale from 1918 should taste but it has a rustic out of this time feel to it. It is quite nice but the bitterness is a bit much for my palate in the way it is presented.
