12oz bottle from Walmart in Ellsworth, ME
Pours clear dark amber with fluffy off white head and good lacing, smells like sweet biscuity malts with faint hint of hops, taste is mellow roasted malts with hints of caramel candy, finishes with a mellow crisp spice, feel is medium bodied with creamy carbonation. A mildly sweet and roast red, perfect for crisp, cold, sunny days.

Served on-tap in a Samuel Adams Perfect PInt glass at Finn's (Ellsworth, ME).

A: Red hue with 1/2-finger eggshell frothy head with good retention and a shrot strip of lacing.

S: Subtle fruity and toasted malt aromas with low herbal hop notes with some light fruity yeast ester.

T: Very solid flavor profile for the style, a touch of alcohol is the main detraction, but it is not a major flaw. Lightly grainy toasty medium maltiness with soft medium caramel flavors. Herbal, lightly floral hop bitterness balances. Light fruity yeast esters continue through from the aroma. A bit of cherry alcohol comes through with warming.

M: Soft medium body with appropriate light carbonation.

O: Solid offering that might taste better at 4.5% or with less esters.
