Our Alt is very similar to the commercially produced alt beers that are made in Düsseldorf today. It is made with all German Weyermann malts and is hopped and dry hopped with German Tettnanger hops. This is going to give the beer a very malty character and a pleasant hop aroma and flavor. The result is an aromatic light colored brown ale with a rich malty taste.

This one is still on tap at a few places in South LA, including the Chimes, but probably not for much longer.

A darker beer than Abita Amber, with a very nice aroma, malty with a hint of nuts. A very flavorful beer as well, not as malty as an Abita Andygator, but delicious.

Definitely a very drinkable beer, it would be nice to see it as part of Abita's regular rotation, or at least a seasonal instead of a limited specialty brew.

I had this beer on tap at Lagers. The beer came to me a dark copper color with NO head at all and no lacing present. The aroma was of malts and yeast. The taste was a yeasty, bread taste which was nice. Mouthfeel was heavy. Overall a nice beer I enjoyed and would get again.

Had this on-tap at the Abita Brew Pub in Abita Springs, LA. This is the latest in the Abita Select Series. Poured a brownish/amber color with decent head that dissipated fairly quickly. Aroma was malty and taste had a bready, yeasty quality that I found pleasing. Mouthfeel was good and drinkability was reasonably high.
