Our English IPA is made with British pale and light crystal malts. It gives the beer a bright pale color and malty flavor. It also produces a very intense taste. It is hopped liberally with English Kent Golding Hops. This results in the beer having a pleasant bitter taste and fruity hops aroma. The extra bitterness will mix with the strong sweet flavor from the malt for a very balanced tasting beer. The result is a very bold and flavorful pale ale.

Poured into a stubby round glass.
A- Nice amber color-reminiscent of Seirra Nevada's ESB. Very little head. Clear. Light lacing.
S- First impression is of raspberries. A little dank, leafy aroma formed after allowing it to breath a bit.
T- Different from most IPA's I have tasted, the raspberry smell is reflected in the taste.
M- Light and smooth, very little carbonation.
D- Was actually better a little colder than I would usually prefer, as the leafy notes became more pronounced as it "warmed". Definitely not a winter beer, reminds me off hot summer days. Not my favorite, but drinkable.

A:It has a nice clear amber color to it with a bubbly effervences. Also there was a slightly offwhite head that fell quickly but a thin layer stayed for the entire drink.
S:Very mild smell. I was expecting a big hop aroma because it's an IPA but there was only a really faint hop smell. There is hit of sweetness in it, too.
T:It has a very smooth bitterness that I really like. The hope flavor has some citrus to it but it isn't like an american IPA. There is only a touch of citrus and not a larger presence. Also there is a touch of earthy hop flavor that reminds me of english ales. There is a small hint of malt in the middle of the palate.
MF:Medium body with a smooth feel.
D:This is a very balanced beer for it to be an IPA. I liked it a lot and would love to drink more of it. I like that the bitterness is smooth and that all of the flavors are subtle.

They did an IPA a while ago with their select line, and have come back to the style. I doubt it is the same recipe, there is no need to make a new beer under abita here.
Served a hazy light yellow golden with a creamy and thick white head. I usually like ipa's a little darker, but the head looks great.
Smell. Hops are floral and citrusy. There is a little bit of a little maltiness that gives it a nice sweet caramel aroma, but it is faint.
Taste. More of the lemon citrus hoppiness comes out here. Has a nice bittering effect that is not over the top. As it warms, i get a good amount of grapefruit. Interesting how i do not get that when it is colder. Malts are there just enough to give it the backbone.
Mouthfeel. Body is medium with a very creamy sensation. Carbonation seems to be a touch low, but that may not be the beer's fault.
Overall, i have said a decent amount of hop characteristic in this beer, but the bitterness by no means high, especially compared to other ipas. I think it is an ipa easy to put down, though i wish i would get a little more malts out of it. But still a good one that i already have gotten a good amount of, and will continue as long as they have it.

Pours a slightly hazy copper colour with a mid sized head that hangs around for a while and leaves its mark on the glass after each sip.
The aroma is a nice blend of malt and hops, with the malt actually taking over just a bit here, but with enough of a fruity/floral hop blast to let you know that this is indeed an IPA.
The flavour does just the same. Hops kick in with a bit more of a bite here, but they are still cut into and well balanced by the caramel malt. This one is bready/biscuity at times too. Nice. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and well carbonated with just a slight hint of slickness to it.
Pretty good stuff overall, and definitely in the English style. I prefer an American IPA to the English style, but this one was still tasty nonetheless and one that I certainly wouldn't mind again.

Had this on tap at Summits in Sandy Springs, GA. It pours into the mug amber in color with a bit of off-white head that fades with some light lacing. It has a very floral and sweet smell, lighter and less sharp than the average IPA smell. The taste is very balanced and has a smooth finish. This IPA lacks a strong hoppy finish and that is fine with me. It still finishes tart but on a much lighter note. It really does tale a lot like an English Ale that just happens to have a moderately hoppy note at the end. It has a clean and refreshing nature to it. This beer is very easy to drink.
